Wilma Ruth Krug, 87, of Tama, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Grinnell Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 27, 2016 at 10:30 AM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama with Pastor Brian Oliver officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Tama. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2016 from 5-7 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home.
Wilma was born on June 1, 1928 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of Walter and Ruth L. (McNamee) Krug.
She graduated from Tama High School in 1947.
Wilma enjoyed jigsaw and word puzzles, sewing, reading, walking and going to rummage sales. She also enjoyed flower gardening and feeding the birds. Wilma liked to send cards and letters to family and friends.
Survivors include her sister, Laura Etta Metz of Tama; two nieces, Eilene Johnson (Scott Strommer) of Toledo and Marlene (Jay) Packer of Chelsea; one nephew, Marty Metz of Montour; her great nephews and nieces, Jamie (Anna) Johnson, Brandi Timm, Heath (Erica) Metz, Ben (Cheyanne) Packer and Sarah Packer; her great-great nieces and nephews, Danielle, Destinie, Dasia, Brody, Paiton and Topanga; and one great-great-great niece, Alana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother-in-law, Robert Metz; two great nephews, Jeremy Johnson and T.J. Packer.
A memorial fund has been established.
