Cody Alan McDaniel, 22, of Tama, passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017 at his home in Tama. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Kruse-Phillips Funeral Home in Tama. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 1:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.


Cody was born on October 26, 1994 in Topeka, KS, the son of Jaime McDaniel.
Cody was employed in the meat department at Fareway in Toledo for nearly five years. He was a big gamer, and loved sports, especially baseball. He also enjoyed fishing and climbing trees. Most of all, he loved his newborn son, Leo Alan McDaniel.
Survivors include one son, Leo Alan McDaniel at home; his mother, Jaime (Casey) McDaniel-Welch of Tama; one sister, Alexus McDaniel of Toledo; one brother, Aubrey McDaniel of Toledo; his fiancée, Jordan Schroeder of Tama; three step-brothers, Dustin, Adrian, and Jonathan; his grandparents, Warren and Judy McDaniel of Toledo; two uncles, Todd (Lisa) McDaniel of Ontario, Canada, and Kent (Rose) McDaniel of Toledo; and one aunt, Julie McDaniel-Bodkins of Centerville.
A memorial fund has been established for the growth and education of Cody's son, Leo Alan McDaniel.
